The Entertainment and Culture Promotional Society (ECPS) is responsible for overseeing local cultural events in the Milwaukee area. The mission of ECPS is to educate the public of different cultures to improve understanding and goodwill. ECPS accomplishes this through programs, outreach and, most notably, events.

ECPS’ flagship event, Anime Milwaukee, conducts a number of educational panels to broaden attendees’ understanding of Japanese culture.

The Board of Directors is responsible for overseeing ECPS’ operation and affairs. A board member is responsible for providing counsel and high level direction for the organization. A board member provides vision for the organization, not only for the present, but also for the future. Above all, a board member is to ensure the continued success of the organization and its affairs.

Our History

In 2007, the Japanese Animation Association (JAA) sponsored Anime Club at University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee (UWM) decided to form an small, formal anime convention event known as Anime Milwaukee(AMKE).  By 2010 the attendee numbers grew to over 2,100 and the event was outgrowing the the venue at UWM.

ECPS was formed in 2011 to meet the demands of a structure and function as a nonprofit organization.  It was at this time the event moved over to the Hyatt Regency in Milwaukee and was also dubbed "Wisconsin's Largest Anime Convention", a title that the event proudly carries on today.

In 2016 ECPS decided to take leadership of the formal charity ball held at the Anime Milwaukee event. Seeing out a local charity to the Milwaukee area and arranging for proceeds to be directed to it. In many cases the charity also becomes an active part of event programming.
